Hi, I’m Maggie, and I’m excited about the opportunity to potentially work with you or your child. My goal is to help all people know that they are valued and important. I primarily work with children and adolescents with a wide range of difficulties, including trauma, anxiety, depression, interpersonal issues, and other general life struggles because we all recognize that life is hard right now.

I take a person-centered and trauma-focused approach with each client with whom I work. Therefore, I tailor my therapeutic style to each client and use the treatment modality that I think will work best for them. I often rely on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which helps individuals understand the interaction between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how to improve them. I also tend to bring in mindfulness techniques to teach clients how regulate themselves when they become distressed or upset.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts from Furman University, where I majored in psychology and religion, and my Master of Science in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from UNC Chapel Hill. I am a LCMHCA which stands for Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (#A17693). I have clinical experience helping individuals in multiple settings, including schools, partial hospitalization programs, and outpatient therapy. During my time outside of work I enjoy spending time with friends and family, being outside (walking, running, playing tennis), reading, and serving others.
